Marcus picked up his first pair of clippers at 16, cutting hair in his mother's kitchen on the west side of Chicago. By 22 he had his license, a chair in someone else's shop, and a reputation that had clients driving across the city to see him.

In 2011 he opened Cutler & Co. with one rule: never let a client leave looking anything less than their best. Fifteen years later, that rule hasn't changed.

Marcus still takes clients every day. He doesn't manage from a distance — he works alongside his team, side by side, every single shift.
